Will your sockets work with my distal components?
Our sockets are compatible with most standard distal components and adapters. We have two types of base plates: one requires a standard threaded adapter, the other requires a standard four-hole adapter. Consult your prosthetist to find out which adapter and distal component is right for you. If your prosthetist needs additional clinical support please have them contact us.

What is a prosthetic socket?
The socket is the portion of a lower limb prosthesis which is the direct interface between an amputees’ residual limb and their prosthetic leg. Amputees experience a 10% volume change in the initial post-op period, and as much as 2% on a daily basis thereafter. Conventional, custom-fabricated sockets are rigid casings with no accommodation for these perpetual changes. At best, layered socks attempt to manage this affect: at worst, a revolving door of conventional sockets is required to maintain any level of function for the user. The result is a prosthetic abandonment rates estimated to be as high as 50% as a result of pain and discomfort that renders the prosthesis unusable.
How are LIM’s socket solutions different than traditional solutions?
Conventional sockets are fixed-rigid shapes and users’ residual limbs are anything but fixed and rigid. The residual limb is dynamic, it changes constantly, and we believe sockets should too. Our sockets are fully custom, yet modular designs that allow users to control their fit to address daily and/or seasonal volume fluctuations as well as achieve a high level of comfort across varying activity demands. You might think of the conventional socket as a wooden clog, whereas the Infinite Socket is like wearing a high-performance running shoe. When new LIM users describe the way our sockets feel when they first wear them, they almost always, without fail, describe it as the most comfortable socket they’ve ever experienced.
